About Marlies Heitmann,
founder of Marlies Represents

With over thirty years experience in the Travel and Hospitality Industry, Marlies knows how to sell and market luxury travel.

Marlies began her travel industry career at several prominent airlines, where she quickly rose to the top of the US market. A Sales Representative for Lufthansa, she was promoted to Business Sales Manager. At Air France she was Group Desk Manager, and in 1999, she was promoted to USA Concorde Manager of Incentives and Charter Sales.

With her background in the luxury airline industry, Marlies made an easy transition to the luxury hospitality industry where she became the Director of Sales, North America for Orient Express Hotels and shortly afterwards became the Director of Sales, North America for The Ritz Paris. In December of 2006, Marlies was featured in US News & World Report as a Baby Boomer who re-invented herself after the travel industry took a hit after the unfortunate events of September 11.

After recognizing that small, exclusive European hotels lacked the proper representation in the United States, Marlies transitioned again, and founded her newest venture Marlies Represents in 2007. With her European upbringing and fluency in two languages the move to individual hotel representation was seamless. By featuring these deluxe properties to an upscale American leisure and business clientele, Marlies Represents provides the Sales and Marketing support that these smaller European hotels lack in the United States.
